2025 League Logistics

Here is the information for FH Summer League - first games begin on Wednesday June 25th at 4pm; tournament will be on Wednesday August 6th.  Due to when the 4th of July falls, this year, we will NOT be taking the week of the 4th off!  Please be prepared to have games during that week.  Please remember, if your registration is not fully complete - waiver and payment included you will not be able to play.

 

1.  Pinnies:  Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your first game on the 25th in order to get your pinnie.  Please go to the press box area of the turf; A-M and O-Z tables will be set up.  Please go to your TOWN, not last name when picking up your pinnie.  Pinnies will only be given to players - you cannot pick up your whole team's pinnies - and only to those who have fully registered; this includes payment and waiver.  If you cannot make the 25th, you can get your pinnie at any of the weeks.  Pinnies are numbered; you must wear this pinnie every week (no other tank tops or previous years' pinnie).

 

2. Team socks will continue.  We are hopeful to keep team socks the same as last season.  However, there were some combined teams that may or may not be combined this year - we will not know until registration is complete.  Some towns may have to combine differently in order to have enough players - we will keep all posted. Your team may also decide to be something fun - like smiley faces - please let us know if your team decides to do that. Otherwise, please be sure you have the correct sock color for June 25th.  Reasonably priced socks can be found here.

Belchertown: Gold

East Longmeadow: Red

Frontier/Mohawk: Navy

Greenfield: Neon Green

Hampshire: Teal

Holyoke/Northampton: Blue

Longmeadow: White

Minnechaug: Green

Quaboag: Maroon

South Hadley/Amherst: Pink

Southwick: Yellow

Smith/West Springfield: Purple

Westfield: Black

 

3. Parking:  Please park either at the bowl at SHHS - this is the grassy spot behind the turf, the front of SHHS (then walk to the fields) or the left side of the church parking lot.  There is handicap parking on the turf, please let us know if you need a spot.  Parking on the grass to the side of the turf and on the side street by the church parking lot is strictly forbidden.  The grass spots are reserved for league organizers and officials and the residents will call to tow cars on the side street.

 

4.  Sportsmanship:  This league is meant to continue the love of the game and give a safe pace for players of all abilities to be able to play some field hockey over the summer.  We expect all participants - players and caregivers - to treat each game in the spirit that the league is intended for.  Caregivers or players who need to be spoken to (multiple times) about their sportsmanship will be asked to leave the league.   Officials are there for general safety and rule calling during games. 

 

5.  Trash: We are a carry on and carry out facility.  Please plan appropriately and take any and all trash with you.  Teams who leave trash behind will be warned and then fined ($25 for the first offense, second offense and your team will be asked to leave the league).  League organizers will ensure that we leave the space clean after each use - therefore any trash left has to be picked up by us - and will not be tolerated. 

 

6. Game Schedule:  TBA You are not required to be at the field from 4-7:30; you may arrive after 4 or leave before 7:30 depending on your game times.  We will make a call by 3pm on any given Wednesday where inclement weather is on the radar.  We will send a blast email out,  and post on our Instagram page.

 

7.  Miscellaneous:  There will be no concession stand or access to the inside of SHHS.  There may be weeks where a lemonade stand and small candy and/or chip items will be for sale. Please bring plenty of food and water for yourself.  There are convenient stores and a local pizza shop nearby.  There will be port-a-potties outside.  We will have a trainer on site for Wednesday games.
